Family Storytelling Residency
Home, Reimagined
A family storytelling and slow travel collaboration exploring what home means across generations.
For many of us, home changes.
It becomes a country.
A language.
A relationship.
A child.
A memory.
As our family grows, we're becoming curious about a different question:
How do we create meaningful travel experiences not just for ourselves, but for the next generation?
This collaboration explores family, belonging, wellness, and connection through the lens of modern travel in Vietnam.
Hosted Family Stay
3 Days / 2 Nights
The goal is not to create an advertisement.
The goal is to document a real experience.
The content should feel documentary-style and emotionally driven.
Think:
Slow mornings
Family breakfasts
Exploring Can Tho
Moments with Hudson
Conversations between parents
Rest
Reflection
Less:
"Look at this luxury resort."
More:
"What does slowing down look like as a family?"
Core Story Themes
Theme 1
Home Looks Different Now
Before becoming parents, travel was about adventure.
Now travel is about presence.
The content explores how priorities shift when family becomes part of the journey.
Theme 2
Returning With New Eyes
Many diaspora travelers return to Vietnam searching for something.
Now imagine returning through the eyes of your child.
The experience becomes less about nostalgia and more about creating new memories.
Theme 3
Wellness Is Family Too
Wellness doesn't have to mean yoga retreats and green juice.
Sometimes wellness is:
uninterrupted breakfast
a slow afternoon
quality time
meaningful conversation
rest
This aligns beautifully with Legacy Mekong.
Content Deliverables
Rather than creating a traditional resort advertisement, our goal is to develop a storytelling series centered on family, belonging, identity, and slow travel in Vietnam.
The content will be designed as a collection of interconnected short films that can stand alone as individual stories while also working together as a larger narrative.
Short Film Series
2-3 Short Films (30–90 seconds each)
Potential themes include:
-
How our understanding of home changes after becoming parents.
-
Experiencing Vietnam through the eyes of our child and creating new memories as a family.
-
Exploring how rest, presence, and quality time have become more meaningful than rushing from one destination to another.
-
Reflections on culture, language, traditions, and the values we hope to share with the next generation.
-
How travel can create space for connection, reflection, and wellbeing.
-
A broader reflection on family, community, and the many ways people find belonging.
Long Form Opportunity
While each short film will be released individually across social media platforms, they can also be edited together into a longer storytelling piece if desired, creating a cohesive narrative around family, identity, travel, and Vietnam.

Partnership Ask
As Third Culture Vietnam expands into family-focused storytelling, we would love to explore a hosted stay at Legacy Mekong, Can Tho to create authentic content centered around family, belonging, wellness, and travel in Vietnam.
Our goal is not to create a traditional hotel advertisement, but rather a documentary-style storytelling campaign that explores what "home" means through the lens of a growing family.
