Third Culture Heritage

Come Closer to Vietnam and to the Stories You Carry

There are many reasons we return to Vietnam.

Some come searching for family history. Some want their children to understand where they come from. Some are visiting for the first time but feel a connection they cannot fully explain. Others simply want to experience Vietnam with greater care, curiosity, and meaning.

Third Culture Heritage creates intentional experiences for people who want more than an itinerary.

Through local relationships, cultural experiences, shared meals, thoughtful conversations, and time to reflect, we invite you to encounter Vietnam as a living place, complex, diverse, evolving, and deeply personal.

Whether you join us for two weeks, a weekend retreat, or a private family experience , we create space for you to travel at a more human pace and build a relationship with Vietnam that continues long after you return home.

We started as strangers and left with something much deeper. Third Culture Heritage brings people together through small group Vietnam Heritage Tours centered on Vietnamese culture, identity, local connection, reflection, and community. Created for the Vietnamese diaspora, returning travelers, and anyone seeking a more meaningful connection with Vietnam.

More Than a Experience Through Vietnam

A meaningful experience is not measured by how many places you visit.

It is found in the people who welcome you, the stories shared around a table, the questions you begin to ask, and the moments that help you see Vietnam, and yourself, with greater understanding.

Our Heritage Experiences bring together travel, cultural learning, community, and reflection. We spend time with people rooted in the places we visit: artisans, historians, farmers, cooks, musicians, cultural practitioners, families, and community leaders.

These are not encounters created simply for observation. They are opportunities to listen, participate, and learn with respect.

Because heritage is not something frozen in the past.

It is carried through language, food, memory, land, creativity, family, and the choices we make about what comes next.

Find the Experience That Meets You Where You Are

Third Culture Heritage

Experience Vietnam With Greater Depth.

Third Culture Heritage is our flagship small-group travel experience, created for those seeking a more personal and meaningful relationship with Vietnam.

Across multiple regions, participants experience the country through the people who shape it: artists, historians, farmers, cooks, cultural practitioners, local families, and community leaders. Shared meals, private cultural experiences, regional traditions, and everyday moments reveal a Vietnam that is living, diverse, and continually evolving.

But the experience is not only about where we go.

Guided reflection and thoughtful group conversations create space to consider the histories we inherit, the identities we navigate, and the many ways we understand family, belonging, and home.

Each departure is intentionally limited in size, allowing for genuine relationships, considered pacing, and experiences that would not be possible within conventional group travel.

Programs range from focused five-day regional departures to our signature 14-day experience across Vietnam.

Who It’s For

Third Culture Heritage is designed for:

  • Partners and friends who want to understand Vietnam with greater context

  • Thoughtful travelers looking beyond conventional tourism

You do not need to speak Vietnamese, know your family history, or arrive with a clear sense of what you are searching for.

Come with curiosity. Leave with a more personal understanding of Vietnam, and your place within its continuing story.

Private Heritage Travel

Your Relationship With Vietnam Is Personal. Your Time Here Should Be Too.

Not every meaningful experience belongs within a scheduled group departure.

You may be returning with parents who want to revisit a place from their past. You may want your children to experience Vietnam in a way that feels engaging and relevant to them. You may be travelling with older family members who need additional comfort, a gentler pace, or more time to rest.

Or you may simply prefer a private experience shaped around the people, places, and cultural interests that matter most to you.

Our private travel service combines thoughtful planning with the cultural care, local knowledge, and human connection that define Third Culture Vietnam.

We begin with a personal consultation—not a catalogue of predetermined attractions. We take time to understand who is travelling, your relationship with Vietnam, and what you hope your time here will make possible.

From there, we develop a considered program that feels personal, comfortable, and meaningful.

Weekend Heritage Retreats

Step Away From the Noise. Return to What Matters.

Our weekend retreats offer a slower and more intimate way to reconnect.

Set in carefully chosen locations, each retreat brings together cultural learning, rest, creativity, nature, shared meals, and guided reflection. Some retreats may explore identity and belonging, while others may focus on family stories, wellbeing, food, craft, or our relationship with the land.

You do not need to arrive with answers.

You only need a willingness to slow down, listen, and be present.

Retreats may include:

  • Guided reflection and journaling

  • Small-group conversations

  • Cultural and creative workshops

  • Nature and wellbeing practices

  • Shared meals rooted in regional traditions

  • Time for rest and personal exploration

Cultural Immersions

Go Deeper Into One Place, Practice, or Story.

Our Cultural Immersions are small-group, multi-day experiences focused on a particular region, tradition, creative practice, or cultural theme.

Rather than moving quickly between destinations, we spend more time in one place, learning through local hosts, shared meals, hands-on activities, and meaningful conversations.

Programs may explore regional food, craft, photography, wellbeing, nature, history, or contemporary culture.

Who It’s For:

For curious travelers who value depth, thoughtful participation, and a more personal understanding of Vietnam. No previous knowledge or connection to Vietnam is required, only openness, respect, and a willingness to participate.

Heritage Learning Programs

Vietnam as a Living Classroom.

We collaborate with schools, universities, educators, and cultural organizations to develop academically aligned programs across Vietnam.

Each program is designed around defined learning objectives and may explore history, identity, migration, regional diversity, cultural preservation, sustainability, social impact, contemporary Vietnam, and the global Vietnamese diaspora.

Through field-based learning, cultural participation, facilitated discussion, and structured reflection, students connect academic study with local knowledge and lived experience.

Programs can be developed for:

  • University study-abroad programs

  • Faculty-led courses

  • High-school cultural programs

  • Vietnamese diaspora student groups

  • Educational and nonprofit organizations

  • Academic delegations and research groups

A Different Way to Experience Vietnam

Vietnam is more than a collection of destinations.

It is a living culture shaped by distinct regions, histories, communities, traditions, and ways of life. Our role is not simply to show you where to go, but to help you understand the places you enter and the people who make them meaningful.

Every Third Culture Heritage experience is developed through local knowledge, trusted relationships, and a commitment to thoughtful participation.

Small by Design

Our groups are intentionally limited in size. This creates space for genuine conversation, personal attention, flexibility, and more respectful interactions with the people who welcome us.

Shaped by Local Voices

We work with local hosts, cultural practitioners, artists, historians, families, and community leaders who bring their own knowledge and perspectives to the experience.

Considered Pacing

We do not measure a meaningful experience by the number of places covered. Our programs allow time to listen, participate, reflect, and understand what we encounter.

Culture in Context

Heritage is not treated as something fixed in the past. We explore how history, tradition, identity, and contemporary life continue to shape one another.

Space for Reflection

Guided prompts and facilitated conversations help participants connect what they experience in Vietnam with their own questions about culture, family, identity, belonging, and home.

Thoughtfully Designed. Personally Experienced.

Some days may begin in conversation with a local historian and end around a family table. Others may bring us into the studio of an artist, through agricultural landscapes, into places of spiritual importance, or alongside people preserving cultural practices across generations.

There is structure, but also space.

Space to ask questions.
Space to notice what is changing.
Space to rest and absorb what you have experienced.
Space for conversations that might not happen anywhere else.

No two departures are identical. Each is shaped by its region, season, hosts, and participants.

What remains consistent is the care behind it.

Travel With Curiosity and Care

The places we enter are not simply destinations. They are homes, workplaces, places of worship, cultural landscapes, and living communities.

We ask every participant to approach these spaces with respect.

That means listening before assuming, requesting consent before photographing people, respecting cultural and spiritual practices, and recognizing that no individual can represent an entire community.

Third Culture Vietnam is committed to:

  • Working through trusted local relationships

  • Compensating hosts and contributors fairly

  • Representing Vietnam as diverse and continually evolving

  • Protecting personal and culturally sensitive stories

  • Avoiding staged or extractive cultural encounters

  • Supporting local businesses and community initiatives

  • Considering the social and environmental impact of our presence

Thoughtful travel is not only about what we receive from a place. It is also about how we choose to enter it.

Your Participation Extends Beyond the Experience

Every Third Culture Heritage program supports a wider network of local hosts, guides, cultural practitioners, family businesses, and community partners.

We prioritize direct local participation wherever possible and continue building long-term relationships with the people and organizations connected to our work.

A portion of our quarterly profits also supports grassroots initiatives in Vietnam, with a focus on youth, education, cultural preservation, and community wellbeing.

Our impact is not measured only by financial contributions. It is also reflected in how people are represented, how knowledge is respected, and whether the relationships we build continue beyond a single program.

What Participants Carry Home

  • Being vulnerable & showing your true self lets you connect deeply with others. It’s scary, but it opens the door to finding your people & feeling truly seen. I want to create more of these moments & safe spaces so people can open up, feel at home, feel empowered to embrace their roots & celebrate their Vietnamese identity with pride.

    — Thu Ha (March 2026)

  • It’s not just a tour, it was a reset. Experience like this Reminds us why it’s worth investing in ourself. Not every detour is a wrong turn. Some of the best things I've found in life happened when I stopped following the plan and started following my curiosity

    — Thu, (March 2026)

  • It was the first time I went to Vietnam by myself, and the first time I got to venture out of Saigon and Go Cong, which are the cities my family lives in. I got to explore Vietnam through just my own lens and experience my relationship with Vietnam in relation to me as an individual rather than through my family. I also got to document the experience, which is an overall passion of mine. To be able to travel AND do what I love was a blessing.

    — Andrea (March 2026)

  • IT WAS LIFE CHANGING and now I am 100% certified trauma-free. I was chatting with Tiff about how we REALLY want to recommend this to our cousins and would LOVE to see them on this trip in the future! I was hesitant to recommend at first since they have already been , but seeing how it was so impactful also to others who had been so many times before, I think they would really benefit.

    — Kristine (March 2026)

  • For like-minded individuals who wants to connect with Vietnam on a deeper level.

    — Darren (March 2026)
