FINDING OUR WAY

A Third Culture Vietnam Heritage Tour with Thu Ha

March 1 to 14, 2027
14 Days - Northern Vietnam, Central Vietnam & Sài Gòn

Hà Nội, Bắc Ninh, Ninh Bình, Pù Luông, Đà Nẵng, Hội An, and Sài Gòn

Some journeys bring us somewhere new. Others bring us closer to parts of ourselves we are still learning to understand.

Finding Our Way is a 14 day Heritage Tour through Vietnam, with more time dedicated to the North and a slower journey through cities, countryside, mountains, communities, and the everyday places in between.

Together, we'll explore where we come from, how our relationship with Vietnam continues to evolve, and what belonging can mean when there is no single way to find it.

There Is More Than One Way Home

For some of us, Vietnam has always felt familiar.

For others, it can feel like a place we're supposed to understand, even when we don't quite know how.

Maybe you've been here many times.

Maybe you've never been.

Maybe you speak Vietnamese.

Maybe you don't.

Maybe you know exactly where your family comes from, or you're only beginning to ask.

Finding Our Way isn't about arriving with answers.

It's about giving ourselves the time and space to explore the questions.

For 14 days, we'll travel together through Vietnam, listening to stories, meeting communities, sharing meals, reflecting, and experiencing a country that can mean something different to each of us.

Because reconnecting doesn't have to look the same for everyone.

We're each finding our own way.

Meet Your Host

Thu Ha Nguyen

“I think I’m always somewhere between exploring the world and exploring myself.”

For many in our community, Thu Ha may already be a familiar face.

She first joined Third Culture Vietnam as a participant. Over time, she became part of our community, hosted identity workshops, and eventually co-hosted our March 2026 Heritage Tour.

Now, she's returning to lead another chapter with us.

Growing up Vietnamese in Germany, Thu Ha spent much of her younger years navigating what it meant to belong between different places and cultures.

As she got older, that curiosity turned toward her parents, their journey, Vietnam, and eventually her own relationship with being Vietnamese.

That curiosity brought her to Vietnam, not simply to visit, but to build a life of her own here.

Today, she knows Vietnam through friendships, routines, favorite places, everyday conversations, and memories that belong to her.

And her understanding of identity has changed along the way.

We feel incredibly lucky to welcome Thu Ha back for Finding Our Way.

Not because she has all the answers.

But because she's still asking many of the same questions alongside us.

From Thu Ha’s Camera Roll
Little moments from her March 2026 Heritage Tour.

“Identity isn’t about choosing one side. It’s about understanding all the different parts of yourself and deciding what feels true to you. I can carry Vietnamese values, Western values, and everything in between, while creating my own sense of who I am and where I belong.”

— Thu Ha Nguyen

This Time, We're Going Deeper North

The first half of Finding Our Way belongs to Northern Vietnam.

We'll begin in Hà Nội before moving through Bắc Ninh, Ninh Bình, and Pù Luông, giving ourselves more time to experience the landscapes, communities, traditions, and everyday rhythms of the North.

Rather than trying to see as much as possible, we want to go deeper.

Beyond landmarks.

Beyond checking places off a list.

Beyond the version of Vietnam we can easily experience on our own.

Our final Northern experiences are still being thoughtfully developed, with an emphasis on creating something new for this Heritage Tour.

What won't change is the intention:

More time. More curiosity. More space to understand the places and people we're meeting.

Itinerary at a Glance

Hà Nội + Bắc Ninh

Where We Begin

Our journey begins in the North.

Hà Nội gives us our first opportunity to settle into Vietnam together, surrounded by layers of history, culture, food, creativity, and everyday life.

From there, we'll begin moving beyond the city and into the surrounding communities of Northern Vietnam.

This first chapter isn't about rushing into the journey.

It's about becoming curious.

Listening.

Observing.

Meeting one another.

And beginning to ask:

What brought me here?

Ninh Bình

Slowing Down

As the city begins to disappear behind us, the landscape changes.

Limestone mountains.

Rivers.

Countryside.

Village roads.

Open space.

Ninh Bình gives us an opportunity to move differently.

To spend more time outdoors.

To experience the quieter rhythms of Northern Vietnam.

And to allow some of the conversations we've begun to follow us into a slower environment.

Sometimes understanding where we come from requires enough quiet to hear ourselves think.

Pù Luông

Going Deeper

For the first time on one of our Heritage Tours, we're heading into Pù Luông.

Mountains, valleys, rice terraces, villages, and communities become the setting for one of the newest chapters of our journey.

Pù Luông represents much of what we want this particular Heritage Tour to become.

Less about seeing.

More about experiencing.

Less about rushing.

More about being present.

Less about following the familiar route.

More about allowing ourselves to discover somewhere new.

Sometimes finding our way means taking a road we haven't traveled before.

From the Mountains to the Sea

After spending our first week in Northern Vietnam, the rhythm changes.

We head south toward Đà Nẵng and Hội An.

Mountains give way to the coast.

Movement gives way to a little more stillness.

And after days of learning, conversations, travel, and reflection, we intentionally create more room to breathe.

Beach mornings.

Good food.

Culture.

Free time.

Shared experiences.

And enough space to let everything we've encountered in the North settle.

Because rest is part of the journey too.

Ending in Sài Gòn

Finding Our Own Rhythm

Our final chapter brings us to Sài Gòn.

A city constantly becoming something new while carrying countless stories from what came before.

Here, our journey shifts again.

We'll explore the city through culture, community, food, history, and everyday life while also creating space for participants to experience Sài Gòn in their own way.

And as our 14 days begin to come to an end, we'll gather one final time.

Not necessarily to answer every question we arrived with.

But to ask ourselves:

What have I discovered?

What do I want to carry forward?

And where do I go from here?

Breakout Sessions: Reflection, Connection & Finding Our Way

At the heart of Finding Our Way are our guided breakout sessions, intentional spaces to slow down, reflect, listen, and connect.

Throughout the journey, we'll gather in small circles to explore themes of identity, belonging, family, heritage, home, and our evolving relationships with Vietnam. Through guided journaling, thoughtful prompts, and shared conversation, these sessions give us space to process not only where we've been, but what each experience might mean to us personally.

Hosted by Thu Ha and the Third Culture Vietnam team, these gatherings are shaped by a simple understanding: everyone is on their own journey with Vietnam.

Some may arrive feeling deeply connected to their heritage.

Others may still be figuring out what that connection means.

Some will want to share.

Others may find more meaning in listening, writing, or simply being present.

There is room for all of it.

For many participants, these conversations become some of the most meaningful moments of the journey.

A place where strangers become friends.

Where someone else's story helps us understand our own.

Where different experiences reveal something shared.

And where we can ask questions without needing to have the answers.

True to the spirit of Finding Our Way, these circles are not about arriving at the same understanding of identity, belonging, or what it means to be Vietnamese.

They are about creating space for curiosity, reflection, and connection while reminding ourselves that our journeys can look different and still belong beside one another.

Because sometimes finding our way isn't about knowing exactly where we're going.

It's about having the space to discover what the journey means to us along the way.

Thoughtfully Priced for Our Community

We believe reconnecting with your heritage should feel more accessible.

For our March 2027 Finding Our Way Heritage Tour, we continue to prioritize an intimate, thoughtfully designed experience centered on culture, community, reflection, and creating space for each person to explore their own relationship with Vietnam.

Your experience includes:

• A maximum of 12 participants for a more personal and connected journey
• Carefully curated cultural experiences hosted by Thu Ha and supported by licensed local guides
• Guided journaling, small group breakout sessions, and intentional space to share, listen, and reflect
• Partnerships with local artisans, families, and communities throughout Vietnam
• A deeper focus on Northern Vietnam, with more time to experience its landscapes, communities, and everyday rhythms

Because the value of this journey isn't measured by how many places we visit.

It's found in the conversations we share, the people we meet, the questions we ask, and the space we give ourselves to discover what Vietnam means to each of us.

We may travel together, but we're each finding our own way.
