Finding Our Way
March 1 to 14, 2027 | 14 Day Heritage Tour
Northern Vietnam | Central Coast | Southern Vietnam
There is more than one way home.
Finding Our Way is a 14 day journey through Vietnam, thoughtfully created for those seeking a deeper connection to the country, their heritage, and themselves.
Across three regions, we explore Vietnam through its history, traditions, food, landscapes, and the people who carry its stories forward.
Along the way, we make space for reflection, meaningful conversations, and the friendships that often become the most memorable part of traveling together.
Small group of up to 12 participants | Hosted by Thu Hà
Throughout the Journey
Finding Our Way is more than the places we visit. It's about the moments between destinations, the stories we share, and the space we create to connect with Vietnam, ourselves, and one another.
Reflect with Intention
Throughout our journey, you'll receive thoughtfully created journaling prompts from the Third Culture Vietnam team. Inspired by the places we visit and the people we meet, these reflections invite you to slow down, ask questions, and explore your own relationship with heritage, identity, and belonging.
There's no right way to reflect, and no expectation to have all the answers. Simply an invitation to be present and curious.
Around the Table
Food has always been one of the ways we connect with our culture and one another.
From traditional Northern Vietnamese dishes to the flavors of Central Vietnam and the diverse culinary traditions of Sài Gòn, we'll experience the country through its regional cuisine.
Some meals introduce us to new flavors. Others might remind us of home. And often, the most meaningful memories come from the conversations shared around the table.
Gather Together
Across our 14 days, we'll come together for five guided breakout sessions, creating space for meaningful conversations, personal reflection, and shared stories.
These gatherings invite us to explore questions of family, identity, cultural heritage, and belonging through our own experiences and those of others.
You don't need to speak Vietnamese, share the same background, or have a particular story to tell.
Just come as you are, with an open mind and a willingness to connect.
Because while we may all be finding our own way, we don't have to do it alone.

Chapter One | Northern Vietnam
Roots, Traditions & Discovery
Returning to the Beginning
Every journey home begins somewhere.
For us, it begins in Northern Vietnam, where ancient traditions, historic cities, and mountain communities invite us to slow down, listen, and discover.
Over the next seven days, we'll explore how heritage lives beyond the pages of history. In the hands of artisans, around family tables, through the stories of local communities, and in the traditions passed from one generation to the next.
From the vibrant streets of Hà Nội, to the peaceful rivers and limestone mountains of Ninh Bình, and the rice terraces and Thai ethnic communities of Pù Luông, this chapter introduces us to the many landscapes, cultures, and stories that shape Northern Vietnam.
Along the way, we'll share meals, learn from local communities, and create space for reflection and meaningful conversations.
Because finding our way isn't always about knowing where we're going. Sometimes, it begins with understanding where we come from..
Day 1 | March 1
Hà Nội: Coming Home
Our journey begins in Hà Nội, where we meet one another and begin exploring the many stories that make up Vietnamese identity.
We'll discover Vietnam's 54 officially recognized ethnic communities through a museum visit, explore the country's scholarly traditions at the Temple of Literature, and enjoy our first taste of Northern Vietnamese cuisine.
In the evening, we'll gather for a welcome dinner and our first guided reflection session, creating space to share our stories, intentions, and reasons for joining this journey.
Day 2 | March 2
Hà Nội: The Hands Behind Our Heritage
Travel beyond the city to a traditional áo dài tailoring village, where generations of artisans have preserved the craftsmanship behind one of Vietnam's most recognizable cultural garments.
We'll meet local craftspeople, discover the techniques of traditional tailoring, and participate in a hands on experience exploring the artistry behind the áo dài.
Returning to Hà Nội, we'll visit Hỏa Lò Prison Relic to learn about Vietnam's colonial history and the events that shaped its path toward independence.
Day 3 | March 3
Hà Nội: Flavours of Home
Today, we experience Hà Nội through its markets, food, and creative traditions.
We'll explore a traditional wet market, participate in a Vietnamese handmade paper and calligraphy workshop, and discover the flavors of local street food.
Our day continues with a visit to the Vietnamese Women's Museum, time exploring the Old Quarter, and an evening water puppet performance.
A day of discovering how food, language, and creativity keep cultural memories alive.
Day 4 | March 4
Ninh Bình: Between Mountains & Rivers
Leaving the capital, we journey into Ninh Bình, a landscape of limestone mountains, winding rivers, and ancient history.
We'll travel by traditional sampan through scenic waterways and caves before exploring Hoa Lư, Vietnam's ancient capital.
In the evening, we'll experience the warmth of a traditional family home, share a home cooked meal, and discover local music and dance.
Our second reflection session invites us to think about family, tradition, and the meaning of home.
Day 5 | March 5
Ninh Bình: Hands of the Land
A slower day dedicated to experiencing the countryside.
We'll cycle through traditional villages, rice fields, and rural landscapes, visit historic temples, and discover the rhythms of everyday life outside the city.
A peaceful boat experience through limestone caves and waterways offers another perspective on the region's natural beauty.
The afternoon is intentionally open for rest, reflection, or personal exploration.
Day 6 | March 6
Pù Luông: Into the Mountains
We continue into the mountains of Pù Luông, where rice terraces, traditional stilt houses, and local communities offer a different perspective on life in Northern Vietnam.
We'll walk through mountain villages and spend time learning about the traditions of local Thai ethnic communities.
A traditional brocade weaving experience introduces us to the craftsmanship and cultural knowledge passed between generations.
In the evening, we'll gather for traditional music, dance, and our third guided reflection session.
Day 7 | March 7
Pù Luông: Living with the Land
Our final day in the North explores the relationship between local communities and their natural environment.
We'll discover traditional bamboo waterwheels, learn about agricultural practices developed across generations, and experience the region's rivers by bamboo raft.
After lunch, we return to Hà Nội for a restful evening before beginning the next chapter of our journey.
Chapter Two | Central Vietnam
Space, Creativity & Reflection
Making Space to Reflect
Leaving Northern Vietnam behind, we begin the next chapter of our journey along Vietnam's Central Coast.
Here, the pace slows.
The mountains give way to the sea. Our mornings become quieter. And we begin making space to reflect on the people, places, and stories we've encountered.
Over the next four days, we'll experience the coastal beauty of Đà Nẵng and the living heritage of Hội An, where centuries of cultural exchange continue to shape everyday life.
Through traditional cooking, local craftsmanship, spiritual spaces, and quiet moments by the sea, we'll discover how culture lives in both the traditions we preserve and the everyday moments we share.
This chapter is an invitation to slow down, embrace stillness, and reconnect with ourselves and one another.
Because sometimes, finding our way isn't about discovering something new, but giving ourselves the space to understand what we've already experienced.
Day 8 | March 8
Đà Nẵng: From Mountains to the Sea
After seven days exploring Northern Vietnam, we make our way to the Central Coast.
This chapter is intentionally slower, offering space to rest, reflect, and experience Vietnam at a different pace.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy the beach, explore independently, or simply take time for yourself. An optional sound bath experience offers another opportunity to unwind.
We'll gather for our fourth reflection session, looking back on the people, places, and stories we've encountered so far.
Day 9 | March 9
Đà Nẵng: Mountains & Sea
Begin the morning with a gentle sunrise yoga experience along the coast.
We'll then explore the Marble Mountains, discovering limestone caves, Buddhist pagodas, and spiritual spaces nestled within the natural landscape.
The afternoon is open for relaxation, beach activities, or personal exploration.
A reminder that slowing down can be just as meaningful as discovering somewhere new.
Day 10 | March 10
Hội An: Heritage & Creativity
Today, we travel to Hội An, a historic trading town shaped by centuries of cultural exchange.
We'll explore a local market alongside a Vietnamese chef before participating in a hands on cooking workshop, learning about regional ingredients and preparing traditional dishes together.
Later, we'll wander through Hội An Ancient Town, discovering its architecture, craftsmanship, and multicultural history.
There will also be opportunities to explore traditional tailoring and, optionally, enjoy a cultural performance before returning to Đà Nẵng.
Day 11 | March 11
Đà Nẵng to Sài Gòn: From Coast to City
Our final morning along the Central Coast is yours to enjoy.
For those interested, an optional sunrise paddleboarding experience offers a peaceful start to the day.
After enjoying a regional lunch featuring mì Quảng, we'll travel to Sài Gòn, where the final chapter of our journey begins.
Our fifth guided reflection session creates space to process the experiences we've shared and the connections we've formed.
Chapter Three | Southern Vietnam
History, Migration & Connection
Carrying the Story Forward
Every journey changes us.
The question is what we choose to carry home.
As we arrive in Sài Gòn, we enter a city shaped by generations of migration, resilience, and cultural exchange. A place where different histories, traditions, and communities continue to create new meanings of home.
Over our final three days, we'll explore the many layers of Sài Gòn, from the living heritage of Chợ Lớn to the historic landmarks and stories that have shaped Vietnam and its diaspora.
Along the way, we'll reflect on the experiences we've shared, the perspectives we've gained, and the friendships that have grown throughout our journey.
This final chapter is about more than understanding Vietnam's past. It's about recognizing how those stories connect to our own, and how belonging can take many different forms.
As we gather for one last meal together, we may realize that finding our way was never about reaching a particular destination.
Sometimes, it's about the people who helped us feel a little closer to home.
And perhaps the most meaningful part of this journey is what we choose to carry forward.
Day 12 | March 12
Sài Gòn: A City of Many Stories
We begin our exploration of Sài Gòn in Chợ Lớn, a historic neighborhood shaped by generations of Chinese Vietnamese communities.
Through local markets, traditional temples, assembly halls, and herbal medicine streets, we'll explore stories of migration, cultural exchange, and belonging.
We'll also experience the neighborhood's distinctive culinary traditions over a shared dim sum lunch.
The afternoon is open for personal exploration.
Day 13 | March 13
Sài Gòn: Layers of a Changing City
Today, we explore the histories that shaped modern Sài Gòn and the lives of Vietnamese families across generations.
Visits to Independence Palace and the War Remnants Museum offer opportunities to engage with Vietnam's complex past.
We'll also explore the city's historic architecture, from the Central Post Office and Đồng Khởi Street to Nguyễn Huệ Boulevard and Bến Thành Market.
A day to reflect on memory, history, and how the past continues to shape our understanding of the present.
Day 14 | March 14
Sài Gòn: One Last Day Together
Our final day is intentionally left open.
Whether you choose to visit family, return to a favorite neighborhood, explore the city, or simply rest, this is time to experience Vietnam in your own way.
In the evening, we'll gather for one final dinner.
Fourteen days of shared meals, unfamiliar places, meaningful conversations, and new friendships.
We may all arrive with different questions, and we may leave with different answers.
But perhaps what matters most is knowing we didn't have to find our way alone.
