Heritage Tour (November 2-15, 2026)

The Stories We Carry

This is more than a journey through Vietnam.

It is an invitation to explore the stories, memories, and questions we carry with us.

Over 14 days, we'll travel from North to South Vietnam, spending time in historic cities, local communities, and the Central Highlands, where places like Đà Lạt and Buôn Ma Thuột offer a different rhythm of life and a deeper connection to culture, identity, and belonging.

Hosted by Jason Nguyen, founder of Nguyễn Dynasty Co and creator of Ngã Ba Intersection, this experience combines cultural exploration with reflection through guided journaling, small group conversations, and shared storytelling.

Because heritage is not only about understanding where we come from.

It is also about understanding who we are becoming.

Your Host

Jason Phúc Nguyễn

Cultural Storyteller / Community Organizer

Born in Vietnam and raised in the United States, Jason is the founder of Nguyễn Dynasty Co and creator of Ngã Ba Intersection, projects centered around storytelling, community, and the Vietnamese diaspora experience. This November, he joins us as your host, helping guide conversations, reflection, and connection as we explore the stories, identities, and experiences that shape who we are. Inspired by his love of film photography, each participant will also receive a disposable camera to document the journey through their own lens, capturing moments, memories, and stories as they unfold.

Culture, Community & the Land

Some of the most meaningful stories in Vietnam are rooted in its people, communities, and connection to the land.

This November, we'll revisit experiences that have become meaningful parts of our Heritage Tours, including learning from the last generation of Dong Hồ folk artists in Bắc Ninh, spending time with the White Thái community in Mai Châu, and connecting with local families in the Mekong Delta, while also exploring new regions in the Central Highlands.

In Đà Lạt, we'll learn about the traditions of the K'Ho people while exploring tea-growing regions, flower farms, and local agricultural communities. In Buôn Ma Thuột, we'll spend time with members of the Ê Đê community during coffee harvest season, gaining insight into traditions, livelihoods, and ways of life that have been carried forward for generations.

Together, these experiences offer a deeper understanding of how culture, community, and identity continue to shape Vietnam today.

Each region of Vietnam holds a different part of our story.

Itinerary at a Glance

Culture, Community & the Land

Throughout the journey, we'll spend time with local communities whose traditions, stories, and ways of life continue to shape Vietnam today. Through conversations, shared experiences, and cultural exchange, we'll explore how identity is carried through family, community, craft, and connection to the land.

  • In Northern Vietnam, we'll spend time with the White Thái community in Mai Châu, where traditions of hospitality, weaving, music, and village life have been preserved across generations. We'll also meet master artisans and cultural practitioners whose work reflects the enduring relationship between heritage and everyday life.

As we listen to stories and learn from local communities, we'll begin exploring our own questions around roots, family history, and the experiences that shape who we are.

  • In Đà Lạt, we'll learn about the traditions and history of the K'Ho people, whose connection to the mountains of Lâm Đồng stretches back generations. We'll visit tea-growing regions, flower farms, and persimmon producers while exploring how culture, agriculture, and community remain deeply connected.

In Buôn Ma Thuột, we'll spend time learning from members of the Ê Đê community as coffee harvest season begins across the Central Highlands. Through stories, conversations, and hands-on experiences, we'll gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between land, livelihood, family, and cultural identity.

  • In Southern Vietnam, we'll explore communities shaped by migration, resilience, and renewal. From Sài Gòn's diverse neighborhoods to the waterways of the Mekong Delta, we'll encounter stories of adaptation, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange that continue to shape the region today.

We'll spend time with local families and community members whose experiences reflect the many ways people preserve tradition while embracing change. As the journey draws to a close, we'll reflect on the stories we've inherited, the connections we've made, and the many ways belonging can take shape across generations and geography.

Because culture is not only found in museums or history books.

It lives in the communities we meet, the traditions we experience, and the stories people choose to carry forward.

Breakout Sessions: Stories, Connection & Healing

At the heart of The Stories We Carry are our guided breakout sessions, intentional spaces for reflection, conversation, and connection.

Throughout the journey, guests will gather in small circles to explore themes of identity, belonging, family, memory, migration, and home. Through guided journaling, thoughtful prompts, and shared storytelling, these sessions create space for conversations that often don't happen in everyday life.

Hosted by Jason Nguyen and the Third Culture Vietnam team, these gatherings are shaped by people who understand what it means to live between cultures, navigate multiple identities, and carry stories across generations. Together, we'll explore not only the places we visit, but also the questions, experiences, and memories that connect us.

For many participants, these conversations become the soul of the journey.

A place where strangers become friends.

Where stories find language.

Where different paths reveal shared experiences.

And where people discover they are not as alone in their questions as they once believed.

True to the spirit of Third Culture Vietnam, these circles are not about having the right answers.

They are about creating space for curiosity, understanding, and connection.

Because some of the most meaningful parts of the journey happen not at a destination, but in the conversations we share along the way.

Giving Back

For our November 2026 Heritage Tour, a portion of our proceeds will be donated to Blue Dragon Children's Foundation, an organization selected in partnership with our host, Jason Nguyen.

Blue Dragon works throughout Vietnam to support children and families facing poverty, exploitation, trafficking, and other vulnerable circumstances. Through education, crisis support, rescue services, and long-term care, their team helps create pathways toward safety, opportunity, and a brighter future.

Jason's work has long been centered around community, dignity, and creating spaces where people feel seen and supported. These values closely align with Blue Dragon's mission and the spirit of this journey.

As we explore stories of identity, belonging, and home throughout Vietnam, we're grateful that this experience can also contribute to an organization helping young people build futures of their own.

For 2026, we’ve intentionally adjusted our pricing to make the Heritage Tour more accessible, while keeping the same depth, intimacy, and care that defines the experience.

This reflects our commitment to:

  • Honoring local guides, artisans, and communities we partner with

The value of this experience is not just in the itinerary, it’s in the space we hold together, the stories we share, and the connections you’ll carry home.
